Hela is a senior at UCLA, majoring in Political Science with minors in Environmental Science and History. Hela previously interned for Evergreen in the summer of 2025, and is interested in exploring the intersection between law and policy, particularly in the contexts of climate justice and defending democracy. Prior to Evergreen, she served as a legislative intern on the Hill for Congressman Ami Bera (CA-06) and as a research assistant at the UC Berkeley Department of Political Science and UCLA REPS Lab. She is also involved in student journalism, serving as a podcast host and opinion writer at The Daily Bruin. Outside of work, she loves hiking, running, and is starting to get into cooking.
