Corey leads Evergreen’s policy work and has expertise on a wide range of domestic policy issues, including gun violence prevention, democracy and legal reform, and economic mobility.
Before joining Evergreen, Corey served as senior policy advisor to then-Senator Kamala Harris and as a policy advisor to Secretary Hillary Clinton and Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
After the 2016 election, Corey helped found Democracy Forward, a legal nonprofit that defends against harmful and dangerous executive branch policies. A lawyer by training, Corey started his career on then-Senator Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign.
Corey lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, kiddo, dog, and far too many books about the Reconstruction era.
